Hi! I’m Heather, the gal behind Chickabug – both the Etsy shop and the blog. Thank you for stopping by! : ) This blog is where I share party ideas, customer photos, crafting inspiration, recipes, and other things that I just plain love.
A teeny bit about me: I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in art, then worked as a graphic designer and art director for 10 years. Though it was sometimes fun to work for clients such as Starbucks, Continental Airlines, Babies”R”Us and Sony, I really wanted to do something more meaningful – to design things that meant something to someone. I’d always loved making invitations for friends’ parties, so I started posting my designs to Etsy in October 2009. Within a year I quit my day job, and since then, this has been my full time job. I feel very fortunate to make a living doing what I love!
Besides my obvious passion for all things cute, clever, or handmade, I love reading memoirs, doing yoga, baking just about anything that involves chocolate, and hanging out with my incredibly loyal rescue dog, Charlotte.
